Girl, 13, Has Baby in School Washroom. Teachers Had No Idea

The girl, studying in class 9 of a government school in Hyderabad’s IT hub Madhapur area reportedly complained of a stomach ache, after which her teacher sent her to the washroom along with a classmate. When probed, the girl told the police that she had no clue about her pregnancy and she suspected a man named Dinesh to be the reason behind her pregnancy.

Receiving information from the school on Monday, police called her father and inquired, after which he lodged a complaint.

However, a DNA report claimed that the parents were fully aware of the condition of their daughter but had chosen to keep quiet, owing to the “stigma”. Earlier, in a similar incident at Nizamabad district in July, a class 10 girl delivered a baby boy in toilet and threw it into the fields through the toilet window. Police said that it was a completely normal delivery. “The girl has been regular to the school. We think the suspect must have raped the girl when her sister was sleeping”, said the investigation official.

Nobody among the 20 member school staff including 13 women teachers at Government High School Madhapur noticed that the girl was pregnant. The school is located en route Cyber Towers via Madhapur petrol pump.

Immediately the school took action and moved the girl to the hospital after informing her parents. One of the students noticed the incident, and informed the teachers. According to a NDTV Report, The teachers who are in utter shock said that they never understood that the girl was pregnant.
