Girl, 14, arrested over bus attack on 87-year-old
She was taken to a south London police station, where she remains in custody.
The shocking assault occurred last month after the teenagers refused to pay to board the route 166 bus, according to Croydon Safer Transport Team, ensuing in an argument between the driver and teens.
The girls boarded the bus without paying and, during a long altercation with the driver, most of the passengers got off the stationary vehicle.
Police have arrested a 14-year-old girl after an 87-year-old woman was allegedly punched in the face on a London bus.
Footage of the incident shows the 87-year-old stand up to speak to the teenagers at around 3.20pm on Friday, October 16.
“As the victim got up, one of the suspects punched her in the face, before both suspects ran off”.
Police from the MPS Roads and Transport Policing Command made an arrest today (Mon) while investigating the attack on an elderly lady.
The Metropolitan Police has also identified a second female believed to have been involved in the incident.
The suspects were two black girls, aged between 14 and 18 years old.
A passenger came to the aid of the victim, who was taken to hospital and discharged the same day.
