Over the past week, a few media outlets have been reporting an increase in everyone’s favorite cookies, but the Girl Scout’s are here to put your mind at ease.

The Girl Scout councils say the price hike is because of higher costs for ingredients, transportation and storage. Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland partners with Little Brownie Bakers in Louisville, Ky., to negotiate pricing terms.

The Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland council’s cookie season kicks off on January 9 and runs through March 20. They will have eight cookie varieties: Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Trefoils, Do-si-dos, Savannah Smiles, Rah-Rah Raisins, and gluten-free Toffee-tastic.
