Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies lead Hemet police to pursuit suspect
The Girls Scouts of America have introduced new cookie flavors.
Most are familiar with scouts selling cookies in person, but now they are available online through the “Digital Cookie” website. If you don’t know a Girl Scout, send an email to iwantcookies@gsnim.org and staff will connect you with one.
This year’s sales runs February 12 to March 20 with boxes still $4 – except for the gluten-free cookies that sell for $5.
“Daphne, in the morning she always came and gave us hugs, and she was very nice”, 2nd grade Girl Scout, Hannah Lettofsky.
Officers spotted the tossed item, which turned out to be a box of Thin Mints with a note attached to it, listing a number for Kopff to call if the suspect was interested in buying more cookies. “The prodeeds from these girl-led businesses go to fund all the adventures you get to have as a Girl Scout”.
Before sales end, make your way out and try the Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs and Do-si-dos all while supporting your local Girl Scouts’ initiatives.
Kentucky’s Wilderness Road has increased cookies to $4 a box to maintain and expand the quality of the cookie program.
While Girl Scouts just need milk to sample their wares, their parents may want to try wine this year.
“I would say thank you because what you’re doing is really making the world a better place”, said Theresa Cassaday, Girl Scouts Cookie spokesperson. “After paying the baker, all proceeds stay within the local council”, according to a statement released by Hannah Wallace, director of communications and marketing for Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama.
According to the Girl Scouts of Central Indiana, along with MainSource Bank, for the second straight year credit cards and debit cards can be used to purchase cookies at booth locations.
