Gisele Bündchen Walked A Never-Ending Runway To Kick Off The Olympics
Details of the Opening Ceremony were leaked on social media, and Brazilians were infuriated by the street mugging scene, which would involve supermodel Gisele Bündchen. Now this is the Olympics we’ve been waiting for!
Co-director Leonardo Caetano said: “The strength of our ceremony will be working with more people and less things, less props”.
“Most of my family will be here for the ceremony”.
Brazil’s interim president Michel Temer spoke briefly to the crowd to officially open the Olympics, but he was greeted by boos from a section of the crowd, reflecting the dissatisfaction of the Brazilian people with the government.
However, the spectacle – five years in the planning – is not short on creativity. It’s the countries direct effort to show off to the world its uniqueness.
The legendary Brazilian supermodel was featured in a Bossa Nova segment during Friday night’s Olympic opening ceremonies at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
Rocking a stunning metallic dress with a daring thigh-high split and a dramatic train, Gisele looked confident as she made her final walk in a pair of towering heels after retiring from the the runway a year ago.
“Brazil is vast and all this diversity, in one way or another, needs to be represented in an event like this”, she said.
A police chase then follows through the stadium as Brazilian cops try to catch the thieves.
But Brazil also packaged its party with solemnity, lacing the fun and frivolous show with sobering messages about global warming and conservation.
The ceremony will also feature a poetry reading from renowned actors Judi Dench and Fernanda Montenegro. Their flag-bearer, Rose Nathike Lokonyen, fled war in South Sudan and ran her first race in a refugee camp in northern Kenya.

“I obviously have great memories of London and I am 100% focused on winning here in Rio”.
