Gisele out-earns world’s highest paid models by £22 million
Brazilian beauty Gisele Bundchen has been named the world’s highest-paid model for the ninth consecutive year by Forbes magazine.
The 35-year-old shocked the industry earlier this year when she revealed that she would be retiring from the catwalk – although not from modelling altogether.
Bündchen made her final catwalk appearance during Sao Paulo Fashion Week for Colcci, the Brazilian streetwear label she has represented since 2005.
Model-turned-actress Cara Delevingne tied with Adriana Lima for second place with $9 million, while Gisele Bundchen, 35, is leagues above the rest, banking a whopping $44 million before tax in 2015.
“Automatically my body tells me if what I do is worth it, and it asked to stop”. “When I started getting in front of the camera a lot, I think my confidence started to come out”, the star told Allure in March.
She also picked up a number of lucrative modelling campaigns including Under Armour, Isabel Marant, Chanel, Stuart Weiztman and Balenciaga.
Though Jenner’s confidence will certainly rise again after seeing her name on the list, it seems like no one can dethrone the reigning queen, Bundchen. According to the Forbes analysis, Brady had earnings of $9 million over the same period – which means Bunchen made almost five times his earnings.
Kendall Jenner has quickly become the “it” girl of the modeling industry, walking in several high-profile fashion shows, landing deals with top beauty brands, and now joining the ranks of Forbes’ annual highest-paid models list.
Victoria’s Secret’s Angels have a heavy presence in the list including Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Candice Swanepoel and Liu Wen.
Social media influence has helped Jenner land campaigns for Estee Lauder, Calvin Klein and Karl Lagerfeld. In all senses of the word.
Not only are these top models beautiful-they’re filthy rich!
