Glenn Beck endorses Ted Cruz for president
Glenn Beck announced his pick for president on Saturday.
In a statement Beck noted he has never endorsed a candidate before in his almost 40 years as a broadcaster.
The Republican primary race had prospective voters reaching for their scorecards again today as the mounting rivalry between Donald Trump and Ted Cruz brought forth another high-profile endorsement.
The comment came as Trump contrasted himself with rivals such as Ted Cruz, his most serious challenger in the state, with just nine days to go before the Iowa caucuses open voting in the 2016 campaign.
“I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any voters”, Trump said during a campaign event in Sioux Center, Iowa.
“We need a new George Washington”, Beck said, according to the press release.
U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz campaigns in New Hampshire. Did you ever see that?
“It’s not somebody who’s got a lot of strip clubs and casinos”.
“We have to start raising the bar”, Beck said.
A source told the news outlet that Brock is “leaning on” American Bridge to “step up delivery” of a Trump opposition research book and is “upping the group’s budget”.
He continued his assault on the real estate developer Saturday, saying the time for “silliness and reality show tactics is past”.
Donald Trump is hard target for criticism because not all of his supporters are conservatives and many are interested in his projection of strength, not where he stands on a particular issue. “My children’s future depends on what you do a week from Monday”. Beck has told his listeners on many occasions that Donald Trump is not a true conservative.
Trump believes his voters’ loyalty is so strong and competition so weak, that even a random shooting in the middle of a street won’t turn people away from him. But we have lost that.
Beck and Cruz did a mock oath of office on stage, and the commentator handed the Texas Republican a compass he claims belonged to George Washington, allowing the senator to borrow it during the election.
In a meeting with reporters in Ankeny, Beck accused Trump of arrogance.
During Cruz’s remarks he did take aim at Trump.
