GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Offers Ultimate Refinement
Both vehicles will make their official debut tonight, showcasing what separates Denali models from the rest of the lineup.
Denali versions are now offered for the mid-size Terrain crossover, three-row Acadia crossover, Yukon and Yukon XL full-size SUVs, Sierra 1500 light-duty pickups, and even the Sierra 2500 HD heavy-duty trucks.
The 2017 GMC Canyon Denali will feature a unique chrome grille and 20-inch ultra-bright-machined aluminum wheels with painted accents, along with chrome fog lamp bezels, 5-inch chrome assist steps, polished exhaust tip, and standard spray-in bed liner. The new package will be offered only on 4×4 crew-cab models with the 6.2-liter V-8, but buyers will have their choice of short (5 feet 8 inches) or long (6 feet 6 inches) beds.
Upscale features include a heated steering wheel, automatic climate control, OnStar with 4G LTE wireless access, IntelliLink with navigation, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatability, and more. The new model gets 22-inch wheels with chrome or black inserts, standard sunroof, and chrome tow hooks. The 3.6-liter V6 develops 305 bhp (227 kW) and 269 lb-ft (365 Nm) of torque, while the 2.8-liter Duramax turbodiesel engine churns out 181 bhp (135 kW) and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque. This model also gets Lane Keep Assist and the Intellibeam automatic headlamp system.
The 2016 GMC Sierra Denali also includes magnetic ride control as a standard feature, as well as an integrated trailer brake controller with adjustable trailer brakes. Active noise cancelation technology contributes to a quieter driving experience and is featured with the 6.2L engine. The same goes for GM, which claims to have come up with the industry’s first premium midsize truck. A 5.3L V-8 with the new Hydra-Matic 8L90 eight-speed automatic transmission is the standard powertrain. GMC has finally revealed the Canyon Denali, and it traces the now-familiar (and 17 years old!) luxe Denali theme perfectly.
