“Toward the end we made some runs and made the most of it”.
Busch, the 2015 Sprint Cup champion, will defend his Go Bowling 400 title after winning a Cup race at Kansas Speedway for the first time in his career. He had a great showing this weekend, and racing fans have a lot to look forward to with his future. I like Johnson as the auto to beat at Kansas. “I tried to back it off, but you’re going 215 (mph), and it’s hard to check-up”. Still looking for that first victory at the Kansas Speedway, Kahne has run well and has the fifth best driver rating at the track.
A few traditional frontrunners struggled through the first two stages of the race.
“We caught a couple breaks, there, on those restarts and made the a lot of them”, Keselowski said.
“I can’t offer myself to a Cup team to make more money because I can’t go with them to the racetrack”, Long said.
The logo for Colorado-based Veedverks was plastered on Long’s green and yellow No. 66 for tech inspection, but a NASCAR spokesman said it was never vetted and approved. In this scoring format, a balanced approach with an eye on all the scoring categories is the way to go. A high impact wreck started (not surprisingly) by Joey Logano who has been doing a lot that recently. Kansas has a similar 1.5-mile layout to Texas, so I love Blaney’s upside. 78 vehicle had extended his lead by seven-tenths of a second over Kyle Busch. In 21 races, he has three wins and 17 top-10 finishes.
“We ran with the best tonight”, said Rhodes, who blamed a piece of debris that went through his radiator for the engine blowing up. The win is his 2nd of the season, the other coming at Las Vegas back in March.
Fantasy Insider.: Kansas is usually where the best at Mile and Half tracks thrive. He led the first nine laps before relinquishing the top spot to eventual victor Martin Truex Jr. After retaking the lead following the restart with 19 to go, Truex gradually built a lead and then survived the series of restarts down the stretch. But, Landon Cassill brought out the races first two cautions on laps 30 and 50. He is second in the point standings right now.
Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick finished 1-2 in the first two rounds of time trials-with Busch posting the fastest lap of the day at 190.624 miles per hour in the second round-but Blaney was fastest when it counted, on his third run on tires.
Johnson offers the best of all worlds in this scoring system. He qualified 5th after posting the fastest speed in final practice. He’ll start 33rd due to not qualifying. “Charlotte is our home track, and I haven’t won a points race there, so I would like to win there”.
As his decision to retire at the end of the season sinks in, Dale Earnhardt Jr. said the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway later this month is the one race on his bucket list he’d like to win this year. McDowell should be able to gain around ten spots Saturday. His average finish there is 8.9, while his driver rating is 110.6. He returned to the top 10 on lap 138 and into the top five with under 10 laps remaining. He has two Top 10 finishes in four races here. He has a safe floor and tons of potential through place differential.
“We just weren’t in the right place at the right time, I guess”. “The support shown by ExxonMobil and Stewart-Haas Racing to host this event helped us put more teens on the road that are prepared for an emergency situation”.
“Truex had a couple of really good restarts and I didn’t, and I don’t know if I could have held him off or what”, Blaney said.
