Goalkeeper Boaz Myhill agrees new two-year deal at West Bromwich Albion
Myhill was given an extended run in the side towards the end of last season following Ben Foster’s knee injury, and the club confirmed on Thursday that he has been rewarded with a new deal.
“Prior to the announcement, Myhill had previously remained in the dark over his future, “‘I am out of contract, I have heard nothing from the club yet, so we will see what happens.
Adrian Wright, Sales & Marketing Director, said: “To finish above the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea is a great achievement”.
Diaby made 180 Premier League appearances for the Gunners and scored 19 goals after joining from Auxerre.
Baggies chief Tony Pulis is looking to bolster his squad at the Hawthorns and is believed to be closing in on some new signings having only managed to bring in winger James McClean from Wigan so far.
Myhill is set to start the season as the club’s No. 1 despite Pulis hunting a new keeper. “He had a smashing end to the season when he came into the side and has worked very hard throughout the summer”.
According to Sky Sports, former Arsenal midfielder and Frenchman Abou Diaby is scheduled to have a medical with West Brom this weekend.
