God’s wrath? Flood destroys Tony Perkins’ home
Tony Perkins, president of Christian organisation Family Research Council, said on the group’s radio station this week that the flood that hit his home was “of near biblical proportions”.
As Joe.My.God reported, Perkins told listeners his family will live in a camper for the six months he said it will take to rebuild his home.
Thirteen people have died in floods across the southern USA state, and tens of thousands of people have been left stranded in their homes and cars.
A flood has inundated the Louisiana home of the head of one of the country’s most prominent anti-LGBT organizations. Sadly, the floods have so-far claimed the lives of 13 people, and the damage has been worse in poor communities where people are less likely to be insured.
“We had about 10ft of water at the end of our driveway. Our house flooded, a few of our cars flooded”, he added.
He also said that his family escaped a flood of “biblical proportions” and was living off of “God’s provisions” which apparently includes their RV, which made it out of the floods unscathed.
One of those people is Perkins, the Louisianian told Ken Klukowski, the guest host of his “Washington Watch” radio show.
Ironically, Perkins – a longtime opponent of LGBT rights – has previously claimed that past hurricanes were a sign of “God’s wrath for the legalisation of gay marriage”. Perkins agreed, saying that while “those on the left like to mock these things”, American leaders have historically viewed hurricanes as signs that “God is trying to send us a message”. He said the flood damaged the church and has affected 80 percent of its members.
