Gold medalist Laurie Hernandez wins ‘Dancing with the Stars’

“She was just adorable in our ballroom”.

Despite an unexpectedly strong challenge from race vehicle driver James Hinchcliffe, the Jersey duo – she’s from Old Bridge, his home base is Fort Lee – won the coveted “DWTS” mirror ball trophy.

After her win, Hernandez said, “I just want to thank everyone for their support and riding along this insane roller coaster of my life”.

After 11 weeks of competition, “Dancing with the Stars” finally crowned a champion for season 23, and was there ever any doubt?

Calvin Johnson Jr. and Lindsay Arnold started the thing in a pretty handsome way dancing on the song “I Am Your Man” and “I Am Your Man” by Ryan Shaw. He often excelled when dances had speed and required fast feet. While this sounds like something a typical talent show host would say, many have argued that this year’s DWTS contestants have been the most talented pool yet. She absolutely did. And not just because of her dancing skills. “You make us happy”.
