Golden State star Draymond Green arrested for assault

The 26-year-old Green was named an NBA All-Star this past season and has been one of the main cogs in the emergence of the Golden State Warriors as one of the league’s elite teams.

East Lansing is the home of Michigan State University.

It is unknown where Green is now, Wriggelsworth said.

“This is fairly common for a college town”, Thomas Yeardon, the East Lansing City Attorney, told ESPN.

On Monday, he posted a $200 bond and was released from custody.

TMZ Sports spoke to people who saw Draymond chilling in East Lansing Saturday night, and they say a guy much shorter than the National Basketball Association star was repeatedly heckling him.

In the NBA Finals, Green made headlines for getting into an altercation with Cavaliers star LeBron James. Police said the prosecution would continue from there. The maximum penalty Green could face if found guilty of the assault charge is a $500 fine and/or 90 days in jail.

But Edmondson could drop the charges before Green appears in court.

Details are beginning to emerge about Draymond Green’s early Sunday arrest in East Lansing.

Edmondson, a corner back, is set to enter his senior season at Michigan State. The 6-foot-7, 230-pound forward is a versatile player on offense, ranking second in the National Basketball Association with 13 triple-doubles last season.

Edmondson, a sociology major at Michigan State, turned 22 on Sunday.

He is also a member of the US Olympic team that will compete next month in Rio de Janeiro.

“We are aware of news involving Draymond Green in MI over the weekend”, the Warriors said in a statement.
