Golden State Warriors Dominate Chicago Bulls In 125-94 win
Curry just dominated the Bulls and Cavs in the last two games on the road.
The Golden State Warriors completed another drubbing of an Eastern Conference playoff team on Wednesday, beating the Chicago Bulls, 125-94.
Dallas Mavericks saw off Minnesota Timberwolves 106-94, Sacramento Kings beat LA Lakers 112-93 and there was a 104-98 victory for Atlanta Hawks against Portland Trail Blazers.
A couple Warriors players, however, were thinking about that era of Bulls basketball prior to the game.
According to FiveThirtyEight.com, the Warriors are projected to finish the season with a 71-11 record, which would put them second behind Michael Jordan’s 1996 Bulls team that reached the historic 72-10 mark.
Said Green: “I feel like we kind of have had that chip back on our shoulder”. Golden State led 34-18 after the first quarter and never led by single digits thereafter, winning every quarter and keeping all Chicago runs relatively minor. Pau Gasol had a particularly very bad game, missing all eight of his shots on his way to a one-point showing. “The only thing we can do from it is learn”.
Fresh from a hammering of Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday, the Warriors were again in imperious form, led by Curry’s 25 points and 11 assists. And in a flash, the Warriors broke this one open.
The Warriors used their advantage in scoring depth to push the lead to 63-44 at halftime, despite Rose running his points tally to 21 on 10-of-15 shooting. There was a neat pass from Shaun Livingston to Leandro Barbosa for a reverse layup that made it 41-20 early in the second. He finished with six points (3-8 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 0-2 FT) with 10 rebounds, nine assists and a steal in 29 minutes. There was also a somewhat scary moment when the Bulls’ Aaron Brooks tripped Rose, sending him into Curry as they raced out to defend a 3-point attempt from the corner with 4:28 left in the half. Golden State interim coach Luke Walton said head coach Steve Kerr is getting more involved in preparing for each game. He said Noah hopes to rejoin the team this weekend, although he is not sure when and where he will rehab.
