Golden State Warriors set new National Basketball Association record
As the Golden State Warriors steamrolled Los Angeles Lakers to a historic start on Tuesday, aging star Kobe Bryant sank to a new low in a trying season expected to be his last.
Kobe Bryant is not playing like a starter, but he’ll remain one. I could tell also that he was frustrated, that he wasn’t making his shot. He added, “My shooting will be better”.
“I could have scored 80 tonight, it would not have made a damn difference”. But right now, I’m just taking it a game at a time.
“Nobody really talked about the 15-0 until probably last week when we were around 11 or 12 wins”. “We’ve got Magic [Johnson] and James [Worthy], and Kareem [Abdul-Jabbar] as a post-up player to demand a double-team”. During a conference call with reporters this week, Curry said that the Warriors now have their sights set on winning 33 games in a row, which is a record the 1971-71 Los Angeles Lakers set.
Kobe Bryant retirement is expected to take place after this season.
“Obviously he’s struggling right now with his shot, and I think everybody can see that”, Scott said. “They just don’t trust each other on the floor”, Scott said, and then attempted to explain how a team could simultaneously not trust each other while still not having chemistry issues.
“I would never, never, never do that”, Scott said after practice at the Lakers’ facility. I got to do a better job demanding some help off the ball, get some easier chances, pin-downs, picks, catch-and-shoots and things of that nature. It’s going to get worse before it gets better, and the two usual suspects are to blame. With more than four months left in the season, the end could get even uglier. “I’m not going to sit there and say, ‘This is it, Kobe, you’re done, ‘ because it’s not my decision, it’s his decision”.
Perhaps one of the reasons why this current iteration of the Lakers is so brutal on fans to take in is the fact that this is an organization that has enjoyed so much success over its history. Bryant is now in his 20th National Basketball Association season, all of which he has spent with the Lakers. And if Stephen Curry’s crew can fulfill the destiny of those Heat, that means we’re heading for another back-to-back champion.
