Google Announces New Android TVs, Google Cast Speakers
More specifically Android TV and all its current and upcoming partners.
While it hasn’t exactly set the world on fire, Google is continuing to iterate and improve upon Android TV, its smart television platform. All speakers and the A/V Receiver offer Bluetooth, and Wifi connectivity, supporting Google Cast, Spotify Connect and Multi-room capability via SongPal app.
As CES brings us more and more announcements of new Android TV and Google Cast devices, Google has announced a slew of new manufacturing partners that will help turn their vision of the connected living room into reality. If you’re looking for a new TV, you can select an Android TV from Sony, Sharp and Philips. This includes Arcelik, Vestel, RCA, Hisense, TCL and Bang & Olufsen.
Last month Chromecast Audio gained the ability to sync audio playback across multiple devices and multiple rooms. For those in Indonesia, Google has also announced that Linknet already has an Android TV model available.
Perhaps more interestingly, however, Google also announced new Cast partners for audio products, including the likes of B&O Play, Harman Kardon, Onkyo, Philips, Pioneer, and Raumfeld. The reason? In early December, Google added multi-room support to the device, letting customers get a Sonos-type experience at a greatly reduced cost. Google Cast works just like Chromecast, and is embedded directly into the speaker. After the update we’ll be able to listen to the same song on multiple speakers in different rooms of the house, or multiple songs at once. Expect more details to follow, and plenty of these new products will be announced this week during CES 2016.
