Google announces Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X smartphones
These devices however are limited to the newer ones, such as the Nexus 5, 6, 7, 9 and the Nexus Player.
This new Pixel C will show that despite selling off its Motorola division of smartphones to Lenovo, that Google still has interest in keeping its foothold in the making of mobile devices.
The 5X will start at £339 while the 6P will start at £449, with pre-orders beginning on Tuesday, Google confirmed. It features an integrated Nexus Imprint fingerprint sensor on the back. In terms of processor, Nexus 6P comes with 2.0GHz Octa-core Qualcomm processor and on-board storage of 3GB RAM.
Nexus 5X is also running on the latest Android Marshmallow update as well.
For example, the Nexus 6P – developed in partnership with Huawei – features “the best camera we’ve ever put into a Nexus device”, said Dave Burke, vice president of engineering. Like Chromecast, Chromecast Audio will work anywhere inside your home with devices like laptops, iOS and Android.
In the USA, the Nexus 5X is priced at Dollars 379 (about Rs 24,900 for 16GB model) and the Nexus 6P at USD 499 (about Rs 32,800 for 32GB model). The phone has a 5.2-display screen and the same 12.3 megapixel camera and Type-C port as the Nexus 6P.
Close on the heels of HTC, Motorola has now published its official list of smartphones which will receive the latest Android upgrade.
The elegantly designed Nexus 6P, the company’s most coveted smartphone ever, is the first all-metal body Nexus device “crafted from aeronautical-grade aluminum”.
That capability, called containerization, is not a new concept, but its availability is considered important to businesses to keep workers from improperly sharing sensitive corporate data via personal email or in other ways.
