Google Assistant begins rollout to more Android phones as device requirements specified

Google Assistant will be rolling out to Android phones on Nougat, Marshmallow. It came to Android Wear 2.0 – via new smartwatches – just a few weeks ago and, as we previewed in January, the Assistant is also coming to TVs and cars.
Google Assistant is now being rolled out for devices powered by Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
According to an article at Tech Crunch, the Google Assistant was first unveiled at last year’s Google I/O conference where it became a flagship feature on the Google Pixel phones.
Users outside of the Google Pixel ownership universe that wish to access Google Assistant can do so starting today. It can discover content on certain apps such as YouTube or can even control the lighting from your smartphone. Previously, the digital assistant was exclusive to Google’s Pixel branded handsets but as it seems, the company might have plans to diversify its reach.
English users in the USA, followed by English in Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom, as well as German speakers in Germany. As to when will, the Assistant make it to India depends entirely on the people working in the Indian region. The update from Google said that they will be rolling out the Google Assistant Update for all the devices which run Android Marshmallow and above.
Once updated with Google Assistant, the users can communicate with the phone like a normal one-on-one conversation with another person and can continue the conversation as long as they want.
One of the reasons given for an affordable and less powerful Pixel 2B was that it might allow Google to spread its wings to emerging markets in which other OEMs stand strong with forked versions of Android. Well, the official blog post by Google further adds that the artificial assistant would not bore you down with insignificant answers.
