Google Drive supercharges search capabilities across Android, iOS, and web
Google Drive’s latest update has improved the ability for users to search for their much needed files, regardless of where the files came from and where you are searching for it as well. Those using an iOS device that has 3D Touch will be able to “access recent files” or search Drive using 3D touch from their home screens.
Whether you’re using the web, Android or iOS you can now search via file type, so choose from PDFs, Text Documents, Spreadsheets, Photos & Images, Presentations or Videos.
In reference to the new update which will make it convenient for users to find their Drive files, Google said: “When you store important files in Google Drive they’re not only safe, they’re accessible from any device”.
The impact on you: Drive is one of those Google products that the company wants to make excellent on all the major platforms. “And finding them again from any device should be better results – even faster”. The newly added functionalities, though, will be rolled out in the coming weeks. As such, it is likely that you might not see the modifications yet. There are plenty of major improvements: with the help of the iOS search, users can search Google Drive without having to open the Google Drive app. It likewise mentioned behind-the-scenes enhancements to get more specific results. You can also search by shared files by file owner. These additional filters are for “words used”, date modified, and many more.
