Google gives new Chromecast buyers $20 in Play Store credit
This very nice deal briefly showed up on the Chromecast Offers page days before the promo starts, but it was immediately taken out (but probably only because it wast posted way too early).
There is no remote control for the Chromecast, though, so you’ll always need a mobile device or computer, and the latter is required for streaming Amazon videos. So when you go buy a new Chromecast, just hit the blue “Redeem” button on that page and you will receive the promised $20 Play Store credit. The second generation Chromecast dongle normally runs $35, though Google has it marked down to $30 for the moment. This promotion is available for everyone who is over 13 years old, lives in the United States, has Internet access and only a Google Payments account; the customers must buy a Chromecast device between Dec 13, 2015 and Jan 2, 2016 and the promotional credit is not reloadable. It’s still a good deal, but like an infomercial, wait there’s more! The discount will appear after you add the Chromecast or Chromecast Audio to your cart.
The ‘$20 Google Play credit’ offer announced by Google will be available to new Chromecast buyers till January 2, 2016.
The free Play Store credit can be used for any digital products found at the e-commerce site, including a cornucopia of items such as films, TV shows, games, apps, books, magazines, and newspapers. Streaming is improved over the original as well since it’s compatible with 5GHz Wi-Fi networks. It’s been upgraded to 802.11ac and has three antennas that should result in more reliable connections.
