Google Inc Android App Update – Slide Sharing Comes To Hangouts, Keep Turns
The idea is not really new but Google Slides being available during a Hangouts video call is certainly useful. Notes saved on Google Keep can also now be copied to Google Docs for easier reference even when you are mobile. The feature is available on Android phones and tablets starting today and rolling out over the next few days, Google said. The updates are a part of Google strengthening its productivity app ecosystem, primarily to compete with Microsoft’s offerings.
The bigger update is announced for Google Slides, which now lets users stream their presentations online via Google Hangouts.
Google has released an update for its Keep and Slides apps. This is not the first time users can present their slides through a video call, but this is the first time users can actually do using a mobile device. Teammates, clients and partners will be able to see ideas and presentation through the Google slides and Google hangout. The tap on the button prompts the app to show up an option to present to a Google Hangout video call. For the really busy people who have their calendars all filled up, events and meetings are listed automatically so you won’t forget any schedule. Once the presentation gets going via Hangouts, users can advance slides, take a peek at speaker notes, and use a timer on their handset or tablet.
This Google Keep-Google Doc makes note-taking and organizing easier because your notes and ideas are just in one place. Slides has recently received offline functionality and the recent update will allow the app present to any screen via Chromecast or AirPlay give it an edge over PowerPoint.
