Google intros Android 9 Pie (Go edition), will become available this fall
Google Coach is expected to be targeted to Wear OS, a version of Google’s Android operating system that’s tailored for smartwatches and other wearables.
Android 9 Pie update will begin rolling out for Android Go phones sometime later this year.
It seems now that Google has rolled up its sleeves and managed to further slim down the OS and its own Google Apps, even when compared to its first generation Go edition OS. The announcement did mention the phones above will get a slice of Google’s Android 9 Pie update starting “this fall” but that’s all they had to say. And if you are running low on storage space, the new Files Go app from Google lets you clean up your phone’s storage and find files fast. Storage is certainly a luxury when you are using a smartphone that has 8 GB of internal storage.
Android 9 Pie for Android Go phones also promises quicker booting times and brings verified boot which when enabled, asks for authentication on startup. For existing Wear apps, we recommend developers keeping their production Wear app screenshots unchanged when uploading new open test or closed test Wear apps.
Take Google Go for instance; the app now reads web pages aloud while simultaneously highlighting the word being read aloud, so that the reader can easily keep track of the text being read aloud.
When the Android Pie was released officially, the unwanted side effect caused many people to react. It also offers a smooth and responsive experience, while making sure your device gets the latest security updates and features. While Apple’s HealthKit API and Health app took off, eventually becoming key to the success of the Apple Watch, the Google Fit app failed to make as big of an impact, and faded into relative obscurity.
“Whether it comes with a HD or regular VGA screen, 4GB or 8GB or 16GB of storage, or 3G or 4G support, there’s a Go edition device for everyone”.
There are tons of new Android 9 features that you can use to do more with your phone. Now, Motorola is the latest brand to announce which of their handsets will be eligible to receive Android 9 Pie.
