Google Launches Holiday Campaign To Help Children With Special Needs, Will
With the biggest shopping season of the year upon us, Google and Android Pay have teamed up with Donors Choose to support more than 6 million children in the U.S. with special needs. Enter Google’s mobile payment solution, Android Pay.
Even if you now don’t use Android Pay and if you want to end your year doing something good for society, perhaps you might want to consider activating the feature.
Launched in September this year, Android Pay is a more secure service than Google Wallet, which allows you to pay with your mobile phone. To make it more enticing to use, Google introduced a special promo that benefits a good cause: special education. Also, the donations will be doubled on Black Friday (Nov. 27).
All holiday purchases made with Android Pay will be more meaningful this season. The campaign is being run through DonorsChoose, a foundation whose goal is to help equip teachers and schools with the tools they need to make sure they’re successfully educating children of all types. When you see the two logos below, that means you can just tap your phone to pay.
Android Pay is now accepted in more than one million locations in the United States.
According to Tech Times, the Mountain View, California-based technology firm’s charitable arm, Google.org donates around $100 million in grants every year. In the spirit of the holidays and to boost usage of its payment platform, the search giant will give away up to a million dollars to support children with special needs.
