Google Maps For iOS Adds Night Mode

The update is enhanced with other interesting features, for instance – the ability to label places to spot them on your map and in search suggestions, which would offer a more personalized, user-friendly experience, and the capacity to edit the captions of photos you uploaded on Google Maps. Click on a place name to view it, open up the additional menu (three vertical dots) and select Place details to bring it up on Maps.

Drivers obviously should not be interacting hands-on with the app while driving, especially in the dark.

The Google Maps iOS feature is ideal for users who travel at night frequently. So, Apple has now added the nighttime option, along with a few other features that have been less in the public’s attention.

The latest update for the iOS version of Google Maps adds night mode navigation and the ability to make customized label for certain places.

Users can already set locations like “Home” and “Work”, and the app allows saving specific addresses.

The key to this change is that your eyes won’t have to adjust to the amount of light spread by your iOS gadget, while switching between the bright display and the dark road ahead. Chief among those is a Night mode, which swaps the glare of the usual white accents for altogether darker hues. Apple does have its own software of the same GPS-oriented nature, but it’s been a long time and Apple Maps is still the source of many jokes due to faulty representations and glitches.
