Google Obsession With Star Wars Is Justified, The Force Has Already Awaken
You are in Star Wars?
Basically, this project is a new, serialised Google Cardboard VR “experience”, which “combines a compelling story” that ties in with the upcoming movie.
Google engineers and “product folks” banded together with Lucasfilms and Disney to make this dream happen.
Yesterday, Google launched the global Awaken the Force Within program.
Abrams was asked what the first word of the movie is, responding “spoken?” with a laugh, before revealing the first word a character said was “this”.
Google has also launched Google.com/starwars, which allows users to choose between the Dark Side or the Light Side of the Force.
Adam Driver has also joined the cast of the iconic franchise, and he had numerous same feelings as his co-star.
The episodes were created by ILMxLAB, the laboratory for immersive entertainment run by Lucasfilm, Industrial Light and Magic, and Skywalker Sound.
Now if you don’t have a Cardboard viewer already, fret not because there are plenty of options available via Google.
J.J. Abrams and the cast of Star Wars took over Jimmy Kimmel Live this week as the galaxy awaits the return of the space saga. John Boyega, who plays Finn, has been caught up in the hype about it; he has even wondered how people will react once they have watched it. Hence, it’s better not to lineup right away.
TV host Jimmy Kimmel has called the new Star Wars movie the “most anticipated sequel I think since the New Testament”, adding that “Americans know more about Star Wars than we do actual wars”. Up until 2005’s Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (which we also wrote about today!) all of the Star Wars films had been PG. May the Force be with you!
