Google’s Echo Show competitor plans revealed after YouTube block

The Echo Plus will retail for $150 and release on October 31.

It is the least expensive Echo product and is priced at $34.99. The cloth-covered smart speaker comes with a dedicated bass tweeter which delivers quality sound. It looks like a very fancy alarm clock and can certainly act as one. This is the version of the Echo that features a 7-inch screen.

You might remember that Google recently made a decision to cut YouTube access on the Amazon Echo Show, Amazon’s first Alexa-powered device with a display.

At the heart of them all is Alexa, the voice-activated software used to control the devices, which have few, if any buttons.

In fact the Echo Connect does nothing on its own, so you need another Echo of some description as well to actually make use of it. The latest data show that Amazon controls more than 70% of the smart speaker market with Google accounting for roughly 25%. That’s the number for the American Red Cross, just in case you felt like making a donation today, but Amazon allows for calls to “most” numbers in the US, Canada and Mexico.

Amazon recently uncovered its product which is named as Amazon echo connect at $35. It will be available on December 13.

Alexa Gadgets are Echo-branded accessories. Beyond that, the company revealed a second generation of its Echo device in two variant – the Echo and Echo Plus.

Just like every Amazon product that’s part of this line-up, the Fire TV is Alexa-enabled.
