Google’s next Pixel might come in three versions
Early this week, speculations hit the web that Google is working on three smartphones with fish-based codenames. Not Google seems to be continuing its tradition of codenaming its upcoming handsets to after names of fishes. This is because Google has addressed the hardware issues when producing the Pixel and Pixel XL. There has been suggestions that the phone could be waterproof and insiders have reported that Google is focusing big time on the camera of the devices.
This information comes from multiple sources speaking to Droid Life, sources which also corroborate the Walleye and Muskie leak, meaning this is likely a third phone, rather than just an alternate name for one of those. Like in 2016, Google is expected to unveil not one, but two flagship smartphones this year. He added that codenames are pretty much related to the project itself.
Called Taimen, the new codename appears to be referring to yet another Pixel-branded device. The smartphone goes under the codename “Taimen”. At the heart of the next-gen Pixel smartphone, it is expected that Google will either use the newest Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset or its own custom chipset, which the company has been long rumored to be working on. “This makes an interesting parallel with rumors surrounding the next-generation iPhone, which point to two “classic” 4.7″ and 5.5″ versions plus a more show-stopping 5.8″ model with a slightly curved OLED screen.
We have started hearing.quiet rumblings about what may be in store for Google’s sequels to the Pixel phones.
It’s starting to become obvious that Google is making a huge mistake by not harnessing the Nexus 6P’s full potential. That device, while it polarized consumers and critics alike, was nonetheless loved by many due to its raw power and practical design, which included front-facing stereo speakers. There really aren’t a lot of clues about Google’s 2017 smartphones aside from the internal code names.
However, people are waiting with bated breath for the glimpse of “Muskie”, which may be representing the Pixel XL 2 smartphone.
