Google Starts Rolling Out Android Marshmallow To Nexus Devices
Android 6.0 also includes native fingerprint authentication support. Owners of other devices will have to wait until their manufacturers update their devices.
Motorola first published a list of its devices on its blog that would be eligible to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.
After revealing the launching details for upcoming Nexus smartphones, Google has announced the roll-out of latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Anyways, Android 6.0 Marshmallow began rolling out yesterday to the Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 (2013), Nexus 9 and Nexus Player.
Nexus tablets usually get their OTA updates sooner than the smartphones because they require fewer carrier approvals.
First of all, the new version comes with an assistant called “Now on Tap”, that will provide users with pertinent information about any email or message they have received. You’ll want a reasonably fast card if you plan to do this – and Android will tell you if the card you’re using is too slow. Currently, these five devices get marshmallow excluding Nexus 7(2012), Nexus 10 and Nexus 4.
Dying to try out Android 6.0 Marshmallow? Google has offered more privacy and security controls in the new version of its Android operating system. Well, that was the bad news but here’s something else you can look forward to, Google is telling users to “keep your eyes peeled for other new devices shipping with Android 6.0”.
It works by bringing up information relevant to the screen you’re on if you press and hold the home button. The new Doze feature was created to recognize when the handset is not in use, and reduce power consumption by as much as 30 per cent. Since Marshmallow knows the user is listening to Skrillex, it will be able to comprehend the query and throw back Sonny John Moore as the answer.
The big push on the Marshmallow feature release is Now On Tap, their new contextual assistant that’s aware of what’s happening on your phone and can help you do certain tasks.
