Google teases Android M’s future moniker in new video
In a new video uploaded by Googlers Nat and Lo – who recently started their own YouTube channel highlighting Google’s 20% Project – they’ve created a fun little music video about Android M and what the next name will be. We’re treated to a history of Android, skipping through the various versions as Google kicks the hype machine into action.
Google may have rolled out Android M to developers for quite some time now, but as usual, the company is keeping its mouth shut about what sweet treat Android M will be named after.
“Android’s got me hangin’ on, wondering what new food would be on the lawn”.
Android M is due for release in the autumn, but it looks like the grand name unveiling could be just around the corner.
One thing is for sure, though. Ever heard of the phrase “slower than molasses”? We think that could be the biggest hint right there as marshmallows are cylinder shaped after all.
We already told you guys we think it’ll be Android Marshmallow and most of you felt the same way. But then again, there really is no knowing until Google reveals the final name. Now Android M is on the horizon, and lots of folks are speculating which dessert the next Android update might be named after. This happened last year with the current version of Android, which is now Lollipop.
Now to be fair while the video’s creators, Natalie and Lorraine, are Google employees, the video above isn’t strictly an official teaser.
