Google turns its maps into “Ms. Pac-Man”
Now that people are playing console games, Pacman isn’t generally played anymore, but now you can play Ms. Pacman on your Google Maps app. And, two years, later, they’ve chose to revive the prank, but this time, Ms. Pac-Man will be getting her due. Google Maps lets users play Ms. Pac Man on app and desktop for April Fools’ Day. Starting the game and directional changes are done by swiping, or using the arrow keys. And since it’s already April Fools’ Day somewhere in the world, the game launched in middle of the day Mountain Time on Friday. While iPhone users get to pick the place they want to go, Android users are automatically taken to a chance place they know nothing about.
On your phone, you’ll see the Ms. Pac-Man icon on the lower right hand side of the screen. First of all, make sure your eyesight is flawless to see all that Google Maps presents on the screen. As soon as you open the app on you mobile device, you should be able to see an icon towards the bottom right corner of the screen with a familiar yellow head and red bow. Originally featuring the title character “Crazy Otto”, the board was bought and reproduced by Midway Games, the US distributor of the original “Pac-Man”, with Otto giving way to a feminized Pac sprite and pastel color schemes.
Google has made it a tradition of incorporating fun pranks into its products on April Fools.
