Google turns your Android phone into a Hangouts presentation powerhouse
What Google Slides update will let you do?
The team at Google responsible for its app suite has been quite busy on introducing updates for its Android OS.
Earlier this year, search giant updated Google Slides and users were able to cast presentations to any screen with AirPlay or Chromecast.
Google Slides helps you share your big ideas with the world, but sometimes presenting these ideas can be challenging.
The Google Slide update makes presentations to be delivered over a Hangouts video call. You should see options to present over a new Hangout, or an ongoing one pulled from meeting information saved in Google Calendar.
Using any Android smartphone or tablet, users can now present to coworkers, business partners, clients or students even when they are not in the same room. Both the Google Keep update and Google Slides update are rolling out today on Play Store. Of course users have not received the new update as of yet and it is being rolled out gradually. Before a presentation starts on Google Hangout the preview will determine who is on the call.
According to Google, the updated version of Google Slides app for Android comes with support for streaming via Google Hangouts.
Aside from presenting slides, you can also use the mobile device to go through the slides by moving forward or backward, be on track with the timer, and view speaker notes if necessary.
The Google Keep update will let you export your Notes to Google Docs by simply selecting the note that you want to export and then you need to tap the overflow menu, and select “Copy to Docs”. This feature is already available in the desktop version of Google Keep, but Google is now extending the functionality to mobile devices.
