Google unveils new Nexus phones
At Google‘s event in San Francisco earlier today, the company announced the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P, thereby confirming reports from earlier this month. This one will be available in the United Kingdom from 26 October for £449 32GB as well as 64GB of storage, and £579 for 128GB. It features a 5.2-nch FullHD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Burke introduced the higher end model, the 6P, which is a 5.7 inch phone, and is much bigger than the 5X at 5.2 inches. The phone is pretty sweet, coming with an anodized aluminum construction, spacious 5.7-inch display with QHD resolution, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
The Nexus 6P uses a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 so the Nexus 6P’s processor is said to be just as fast as the iPhone with its 64-bit A9 chip.
The newest version of Android, dubbed Marshmallow, will be available to existing Nexus customers from next week and will come preloaded on the newly announced phones. Its latest type-C USB connector makes even 10 minutes enough for storing charge for 4 hours.
The Huawei Nexus is hands down Google’s flagship phone for 2015.
Responding to question based on the security and encryption for fingerprints, the team said, “fingerprint features are securely encrypted on the device, and processed in the secure trust zone protected area of memory”.
It comes with a fingerprint sensor, known as the Nexus Imprint, which can be used to unlock the phone, and a 12.3-megapixel rear camera, that uses a Sony sensor with large pixels intended for low-light shooting, as well as the options to shoot 4K video.
Google Nexus 5X price starts at $379 for the 16GB model while the 32GB model is priced at $429. Google has already started taking pre-orders for the phone in the U.S., the United Kingdom, Ireland, Korea and Japan.
Chromecast 2: Perhaps the most significant hardware change from Google comes with the new Chromecast 2, as the device now looks like a small circular medallion, rather than an oversized USB stick. Both the new Nexus handsets are now available for preorder on the Google Play Store; with Nexus 6P handset also being retailed by Huawei on its USA online store.
