GOP delegate: Clinton should be shot for treason
LONDONDERRY, N.H. (AP) – To New Hampshire voters, hearing an eyebrow-raising comment from state Rep. Al Baldasaro, a Republican and fervent Donald Trump supporter, is nothing new.
The Trump-Clinton rivalry reached new levels as the former secretary of state launched a “Trump Yourself” app on her website on the same day the billionaire business tycoon accepted the Republican party’s presidential nomination at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.
Janet Schreiner, 64, of Wynnewood, called Clinton “the brightest woman in the room” and was excited to vote for her. But she also said Clinton should address the trust issues head-on.
It’s far from inspiring, but that’s why 67-year-old Maria Mengel, who’s from the Philadelphia suburb of King of Prussia, said she’s backing Clinton over Republican Donald Trump.
Baldasaro, a Trump delegate from the Granite State who has appeared on the campaign trail with the candidate, made waves on the Jeff Kuhner Show when he said that Clinton is “a piece of garbage” who should be “shot for treason”.
UPDATE: Baldasaro stood by his comments in a subsequent interview with the Daily Beast. “She is a disgrace for the lies that she told those mothers about their children that got killed over there in Benghazi”.
“I’m a military man first, and anyone who takes information about our Central Intelligence Agency or Secret Service and people at our embassy and puts it out on a server where anyone can grab it, putting Americans in danger to be killed, should be held accountable”. She dropped the ball on over 400 emails requesting back up security. “She’s got a lot of experience and I can’t stand Trump”, she said.
Asked about Baldasaro’s comments, Secret Service spokesman Robert Hoback said the agency is “aware of this matter and will conduct the appropriate investigation”.
“The only thing standing between Donald Trump and the White House…is us”, the campaign posted on Instagram. “I guess, it’s just, I feel like there should be better options”. Trump has even declared Baldasaro, a Marine Corps veteran, his “favorite vet”.
“In light of recent shooting incidents, this rhetoric is toxic and irresponsible”, he said in a series of tweets on the topic.
