GOP’s Christie back on main presidential debate stage
The August debate was the highest-rated non-sports telecast in cable television history and a September debate televised by CNN drew 23.1 million viewers.
The Paul campaign had asked CNN for a rule tweak so that he could be included in the debate, but it appears as though a recent Iowa poll is what saved Sen.
CNN reports Paul was almost relegated to the undercard stage, but a Fox News poll released Sunday had the Kentucky Senator at 5 percent in Iowa.
Chris Christie, who failed to make the main stage last time due to low polling numbers, is back on that stage, undoubtedly helped by several prominent New Hampshire endorsements. Rand Paul, who was “on the bubble” of qualifying late last week, the network said.
Some centrist voters are fond of former Hewlett-Packard chief executive Carly Fiorina, but she’s lagging behind others.
Nine candidates will be on the main stage at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time. S. senator from Pennsylvania; George Pataki, former governor of NY and Sen. According to CNN, a Fox News poll released Sunday morning showed viability in Iowa for Paul – saving him from joining Huckabee at the jayvee debate.
The Tuesday debates, the final Republican forums of the year, will be held at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.

Ben Carson and Texas Sen. Christie recently received the endorsement of the Manchester Union Leader, New Hampshires largest newspaper.
“The campaign is not asking for special treatment, but simply fairness in criteria, whether it be time frames, allowances for poll variances, or rounding, all of which have been applied to other debates”, Paul’s campaign said Saturday.
