GoPro Updates iOS App With Streamlined Design and Apple Watch Integration
We’ve known for the better part of the year that GoPro was working on a consumer-oriented, camera-equipped drone.
“We believe an acquisition of GoPro would make sense for Apple; action cameras are uniquely positioned at the intersection of Apple’s smartphone, wearables, and multimedia offerings”, Ives wrote in a note.
As of Wednesday’s close, shares of GoPro were down 82% from their all-time high of $93.85 reached on October 7, 2014. 4K videos taken on a GoPro are not downloadable or clippable.
GoPro (GPRO – Get Report) stock is surging by 8.70% to $18.36 in mid-morning trading on Thursday, after FBR & Co. said Apple (AAPL) should consider buying the company. A few days ago, GoPro slashed the price of its latest Session model to $199. FB, +1.21% with its Oculus product and Microsoft Corp.

After announcing their first drone, the Karma, it seems that they also developed new Apple Watch features for their GoPro mobile app. Because time is of the essence when it comes to action cameras, the interface of the app is really easy to use, so they don’t have to waste precious time preparing for recording.
Earlier this week, GoPro launched a channel on Amazon.com Inc.’s Fire TV AMZN, -0.33% to deliver on-demand GoPro videos, though it does not have a designated channel for Apple TV.
So what: Apart from the drone’s curious name (karma can be good or bad, after all) GoPro’s new video doesn’t technically reveal anything new, but rather features a voiceover added to previously released teaser footage shot from a prototype Karma unit.
Neither Apple nor GoPro immediately responded to requests for comments from MarketWatch.
