Gov. Martinez says Holly Holm was ‘class act’ in victory
Holm told Fox Sports that a rematch against Rousey certainly “makes sense”, but according to Hollywood Life, Rousey could be heading toward retirement from MMA.
Eleven of Rousey’s previous 12 fights ended in the first round with her armbar hold stopping many of her opponents, said the Los Angeles Times.
Rousey’s 12-match winning streak came to an end on Sunday when she got knocked out by Holm. She took Rousey down with more than 40 seconds left in the round, they exchanged knees in the clinch and Rousey was noticeably bleeding.
“F*** her and her ‘Nobody has the right to beat me.’ Nobody has the right to beat you?”
“We’re going to go to the beach somewhere out of the city and relax a bit”, Holm, a kickboxer, told reporters during the post-fight press conference.
RONDA ROUSEY ISSUED a positive health update overnight after she was knocked out by Holly Holm on Sunday morning. There was a few speculation the highlight reel loss could alter those plans, but that’s clearly not the case. “With a champion like Ronda who has gone out of her way, above and beyond, to do great things, obviously she deserves a rematch”.
“Ronda is an emotional fighter and she has overwhelmed people with that pressure sometimes and it’s worked for her in the past”, Winklejohn said.
UFC President Dana White said in a TMZ report that there will certainly be a rematch between the two fighters. She seemed unbeatable, but 34-year-old Holm was up for the challenge.
After copping a brutal KO kick to the head and losing her bantamweight title, Rousey took to Instagram to give fans an update on her condition.
“I didn’t want to kick her in the body and have her trap my leg…” ‘She’s completely bummed out and depressed’.
“There was lots of blood sweat and tears but it sure was worth it”, Holm said after winning the crown. But there’s a few bad news for Rousey’s fans as the news outlet also reported her stunning loss and her now blemished record will have Rousey unlikely make an appearance in WrestleMania 32 in 2016.
