During his inaugural address in January, Scott said he would visit several states in an effort to persuade businesses to relocate.
The group acknowledged that the money isn’t used for abortions, but wants to see Planned Parenthood’s contract with Medicaid end. “We’re not going to say, ‘Look, oh well, we no longer fund the extermination of Jews, but we think the Third Reich has a few really good programs for women so we’re just going to keep their lights on”.
“We haven’t broken any rules, we’ve been following the same rules that were put in place 9 years ago”, he said.
The state found that three clinics were performing unlicensed second trimester abortions, a finding Planned Parenthood disputes, saying the state changed its definition of a first trimester.
Stemberger and his group are urging Scott to eliminate Planned Parenthood’s federal Medicaid and Title X funding.
