Second Car-Free Day will be organised today at Dwarka area of Delhi.
Marching forward on his campaign to bring down pollution levels in the National Capital, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that his government will organise a organise “Car-Free Day” across the national capital on 22 January, adding that he will also cycle to his office that day.
“We will organize it in entire Delhi on January 22 and I am very sure that we will succeed…”

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia were also present at the cycle rally on Sunday in an endeavour to encourage people to use public transport and help reduce pollution levels. On October 22, the transport department had held such event between from Red Fort to India Gate.
The Delhi government today held the second “Car-Free Day” in Dwarka – on the road stretch between Sector 3-13 and Sector 7-9, which witnessed a cycle rally led by Kejriwal, and participation of school children, and IAS and DANICS officers. Transport Minister Gopal Rai on the occasion said the government was getting warm response from people towards its Car-Free initiatives. “I am not saying that the entire city will follow our appeal, (but), if 5 to 10% of the people join in, pollution will come down by 10%”, said Kejriwal. “I will go to my office on cycle”. But on January 22, when it is a Monday and a working day, I think then we should observe “car-free day” in whole of Delhi by going to our offices on bicycles.
