Government ready to discuss demonetisation in lok sabha minister
“Please go back to your seats”, he kept on repeating, but the bedlam continued, forcing the chair to adjourn the House for 30 minutes again. He said government is addressing the problems faced by people on demonetization and any suggestion, if worth considering, will be taken up positively.”The government is open to ideas to improve the system”. This is a Nadirshahi farman… “We are in a mood to censure the government”, he said.
Congress leader Anand Sharma accused the government of not wanting the House to run and for “destroying the poor” with his policies.
“It looks like anarchy in d country especially in villages after demonetization”. The first three are Muamar Gaddafi of Libya, Mussolini of Italy and Hitler of Germany.
The government policy was to “benefit those who are your friends and hurt those who question you”, he said adding an atmosphere has been created in the country where questions can not be asked and those doing so branded anti-nationals.
When the House reassembled at 12:33 p.m., it again witnessed uproarious scenes with opposition members trooping into the Well and those from the Treasury standing in the aisles demanding apology from Azad.
Coming down hard at the Centre, JD (U) leader Sharad Yadav says government has created an anarchy by demonetisation of Rs 500/1000 notes as everything has come to a standstill. “They may have already started it”.
The Upper House, Rajya Sabha was also adjourned for the day amid protests by the opposition party leaders who were demanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s presence in the House during the demonetisation debate. “Prime Minister can not be referred to like that”. If they had, the U.S. central bank would have stopped printing dollars, European central bank won’t be printing Euros and United Kingdom central banks would have stopped printing pound sterling, he said.
“The bank would still pursue that loan”. To enable more people to surrender high denomination notes to the government in exchange for the demonetized notes of rs 500 and rs 1000, the government has restricted the exchange over the counter to rs 2000 at one time per person.
“The government has said that they spent 10 months preparing for this decision”. People are suffering even nine days after the announcement due to the acute cash crunch, they charged. “I am sure there is no difference in opinion on curbing black money, corruption and counterfeit currency”, the minister said. This money, he said, had been siphoned off by the super rich or had been partly written off by banks.
The winter session of Parliament began on November 16.
The government further said that it was ready for a debate on the issue.
The Prime Minister also hoped that parties will present their views on various issues to be debated. We want cooperation from you.
