In the second round, Mitrione came out aggressive once again and Browne poked Mitrione in the eye for a second time( this time a thumb).
Speaking after the fight, Browne was in no mood to deal with questions about the eye pokes, saying “I don’t think it was something that a point needed to be taken away [for]”. Browne started to dominate Mitrione.
By third round of the match, Mitrione’s eye swelled to epic heights and even the audience could see that Mitrione’s end is near. The fight was called soon after.
Browne immediately moved to mount with over two minutes left and rained down punches and elbows until the referee stepped in to stop the fight.
The official stoppage came at 4:09 of the third. Disappointing loss for Mitrione, who has now been finished in back-to-back fights.
Browne picked up the win, and did this to Mitrinoe’s eye in the process. After the action continued, Mitrione began firing big single shots while Browne utilized his front kick to the body with frequency. From inside the clinch, Browne attempted a trip, missed it, but then took the back of Mitrione and slammed him to the mat with a suplex. Browne is now 9-3-1 in the UFC.
