Green Bay leading receiver Cobb goes out with chest injury
The Arizona Cardinals face the Green Bay Packers in the divisional round of the National Football League playoffs, which will feature two of the best quarterbacks in the game today. No one should expect that kind of blowout when the teams meet again Saturday night, this time in the NFC divisional playoffs. Eventually, without Cobb, the Packers kicked a field goal early in the second quarter to close within 7-3.
Cobb led Green Bay with 79 catches and 829 yards and six touchdowns during the regular season. Does that mean Randall Cobb is set to have a big game against the Arizona Cardinals tonight? He is Aaron Rodgers’ favorite target with Jordy Nelson out for the season.
After Green Bay was picked apart by the Cardinals to the tune of 38 points, it seemed like a switch nearly went off for them. Well, a lot will involve Rodgers and whether or not Green Bay’s defense can really slow down Palmer and Arizona’s offense. The Packers veteran wide receiver caught seven passes for 81 yards last weekend and will look to create separation between himself and Arizona’s secondary.
What to Watch For: The Packers defense hasn’t been all that consistent this season, but they’re going to need to find a way to play a serious shutdown game on Saturday.
“We believe that if we play our game”, receiver Larry Fitzgerald said, “we can beat anybody”.
But, what games are slated to get underway on Saturday afternoon and, more importantly, how can you watch them?
The fate of these two teams will be decided at the University of Phoenix Stadium, as the Cardinals host the 13-time Super Bowl champions on January 16.
Palmer completed 63.7 percent of his passes and threw for a career-high 4,671 yards and 35 touchdowns at age 36. “Then you’ve got to handle the fire zones, too”.
“It’s real tough”, linebacker Sean Witherspoon said of losing a player with the team not playing. Out of the 13 postseason games that Rodgers has played in, he’s lost just two of them by double digits, and the other three losses came by a combined 15 points.
But Green Bay wide receiver Davante Adams was ruled out for the game with a knee injury, as was tight end Andrew Quarless.
