Greg Roman out as Bills Offensive Coordinator

The New York Jets turned the page quickly on a slow start, rebounding from a disappointing first-week loss with a 37-31 victory over the winless Buffalo Bills on Thursday.

Entering the 2009 season the Bills fired coordinator Turk Schonert just a week before the team’s season opener.

“We got an identity now”, said Jets running back Matt Forte, who rushed for 100 yards and three touchdowns. The Bills finished 13th in offense in 2015 but led the league in rushing yards. It managed just 160 yards – Buffalo’s lowest total in a decade – in a season-opening 13-7 loss at Baltimore on Sunday.

I don’t think the Ravens offense will be as bad as it showed in week 1 against the Bills as the season goes along. Safety Nickell Robey-Coleman capped the run by returning Jalin Marshall’s fumble 36 yards for a touchdown. He had two catches for 20 yards.

Adding in Salas’ 71-yard TD catch and Taylor became Buffalo’s fifth quarterback to throw two 70-plus yard touchdown passes in the same game, and first since J.P. Losman did it in 2006.

The offense was much improved, with Tyrod Taylor going 18 of 30 for 297 yards and three touchdowns.

Fitzpatrick finished 24-of-24 for 374 yards and a touchdown.

The Bills haven’t made the playoffs since 1999 and it’s now an uphill battle as they not only fall to 0-2, but 0-2 in the AFC and 0-1 in the division. “I know I have to step up and make those plays, so I’ll do that”. Marshall avoided a scare when he briefly left the game in the second quarter with what appeared to be a serious left knee injury.

It was Buffalo’s longest touchdown pass at home in team history, and longest since Fitzpatrick hit Terrell Owens for a 98-yard touchdown strike at Tennessee on November 15, 2009. Decker led NY with six catches for 126 yards and a touchdown, while Marshall had six catches for 101 yards.
