Greitens adds Missouri governor nomination to long resume
After graduating in 1996, he attended the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar where he earned his master’s degree in 1998 and a Ph.D.in 2000. It was a base spurred in part by his founding of “The Mission Continues”, a national organization that arranges community service projects by military veterans; and by several bestselling self-help books he has written.
Coming into the four-way race, polls didn’t indicate a clear victor.
Greitens’ Republican rivals called on him to return the money, but Greitens said he won’t rush to judgment as the case is pending.
Richard backed Hanaway, who was a former House speaker when Richard was freshman legislator. Democrats ended up winning the governor’s office that year, as well as most other statewide offices and the US presidency.
The ad was later tied to well-known Kansas City political operative Jeff Roe, who had worked with Hanaway’s campaign.
“He has that outsider appeal”, Richard said.
State Rep. Charlie Davis, who endorsed Hanaway as well, agreed. “They want a fresh face”.
Missouri Republican gubernatorial candidate Eric Greitens speaks to a crowd of supporters at the DoubleTree Hotel Chesterfield, Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, in Chesterfield, Mo.
One of Greiten’s signature phrases caught his eye, as well.
Secretary of State Jason Kander today announced the unofficial voter turnout in yesterday’s primary election was 24.8 percent. The Democratic governor’s race, which was won by Attorney General Chris Koster, had more than 324,000 votes. Kinder served as Lt. Gov. since 2005 and Brunner is a businessman.
The victor of the primary will likely face Democrat Chris Koster in November, Missouri’s Attorney General.
Koster, 51, is completing his second term as attorney general.
Negative ads against Greitens by opponents from across the aisle have sprung up, too.
The campaign ad is impressive, but perhaps too subtle when compared to Greitens’ early work. EXPLOSION.
Missouri law has no dollar limit on campaign donations, and all gubernatorial candidates have benefited from big checks. Donors to the PAC will not be made public until an October filing date, and even then, they can hide behind the names of shell corporations.
After nearly 10 years serving with the USA special forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, Eric Greitens is vowing to herald in a “conservative revolution” in the Show Me State.
Koster took a subtle jab at Greitens on Tuesday, denouncing a “disturbing political campaign” season that has featured “candidates shooting machine guns and doing sit-ups for the cameras”.
In a March 2015 interview, Greitens told The Forward that he is “proud to be Jewish”, and that he saw his entry into politics as an extension of the Jewish mandate of tikkun olam.
Greitens’ nomination caps one of the most contentious primary fights in Missouri elective history, and the most expensive, with some $22 million in combined spending by the four candidates.
