Grey’s Anatomy Season 12 Trailer Prepares For Life After Derek

Neither Rhimes nor Pompeo are thinking of Grey’s Anatomy in a “wrapping up” kind of way.

The characters are changing, the relationships are changing, and the whole style of the show is changing. Yet the hospital was a no-go because Jackson had already picked it for himself. She and Callie (Sara Ramirez) have recently sold their home and now she needs to find a roommate, and fast, so that she can afford rent. They call him “McDreamy” for a reason after all. “As painful as it was for me as a storyteller, the only way to preserve what felt true to me was Derek was going to have to die for that love to remain honest”, creator Shonda Rhimes later said. The project joins other previously-announced Shondaland potential series (at least 3 of them) that are now in development at ABC. I’m not going to say we’re definitely not doing it, because I could be wrong, but that’s not my plan right now. “Meredith is a widow and recovering from that, and discovering whether she wants to find love again”. Everyone thinks that it was the best thing in the world, especially Callie and Arizona, because Maggie punched the homophobic parent in the face. High fives all around! Annalise is a woman who has a murderer in her employ, a man who she may have commissioned for other deadly deeds in the past. Bailey, however, is here to stay. Miranda Bailey, played by Chandra Wilson, will get into a tussle for the important post of “Chief of Surgery”. Yay Bailey! FINALLY! He left his wife as well as their two children, Bailey and Zola. Then the two dads started to bond about how hard it was having daughters. Edwards finally said that Arizona was “a legend”. Do I sense a possible romance? So he dropped the weight and toughened up. Apparently that was a turn on for Jo because she put down her knife and fork and started making out with him.

And Mashable agreed, calling the premiere “a powerful return.” However, their new love interests could impact their relationship.

The episode comes to a close with Maggie interrupting a kiss between Owen and Amelia and an oddly chosen Iggy Azalea cover.

This episode made me even more excited for the upcoming season. The show is going back to its roots. The series was certainly a break from the campy Grey’s Anatomy, and the salacious Scandal as it revolved around a law professor, who (along with five of her students), becomes the focal point of a murder investigation.

We’ll have some other news all about the episode in the near future, but the one thing that we will saw for now is expect entertainment, drama, and more of the same that you have come to expect from this show over the years.
