McConnell also noted that the White House “attempted to reset relations with Russian Federation and sat back while Russian Federation expanded its sphere of influence, intervened in Crimea, eastern Ukraine, Syria and attempted to bully the Baltic countries”.
Trump said he’s told intelligence officials to tell him when something changes, and that he receives the briefing “when I need it”.
Trump has dismissed the CIA’s report.
McConnell emphasized that he has faith in the CIA and the entire US intelligence community.
Earnest said his assessment was bolstered by perceived tied between Russian Federation and Trump, which he said would lead to a conclusion that Russian Federation was motivated to help him win the election.
Trump has continued to deny the reports of Russia’s hacking and said on Fox News Sunday that the alleged Central Intelligence Agency leak is “ridiculous”.
The president-elect also suggested without evidence that the report was the work of Democrats.
And yet, there is scepticism within the US government that this evidence adds up to proof that the Russians had the specific objective of getting Mr. Trump elected.

The election ended a long time ago in one of the biggest Electoral College victories in history.
“It’s concerning that intelligence on Russian actions related to the USA election is being dismissed out of hand as false or politically partisan”, a US intelligence official told Reuters. While Republicans say it should be a non-partisan issue that should be investigated, a spokesman for the transition says “bitter” people are behind the charge.
He added that Barack Obama has ordered the results of the investigation before he leaves the White House on January 20th, and that the outcome of the investigation will be as public as a report can be. “High confidence for them means ‘we’re pretty damn sure.’ It doesn’t mean they can prove it in court”.
His company, Fidelis Cybersecurity, was among those that investigated the hack of the Democratic National Committee, one of several breaches during the presidential race blamed on Russian Federation.
“Where we are [as] an incoming administration is getting ready to serve the American people and hit the ground running”, Miller said.
The Rhode Island Democrat is a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
“He absolutely respects the intelligence community”, Conway said on CBS. But in a noteworthy departure from Trump’s rejection of that conclusion, McConnell said the Senate Intelligence Committee would study the issue.
