Guardians of the Galaxy to join Avengers: Infinity War
The filmmakers behind 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War probably aren’t ready to talk too much about its secrets but Vin Diesel doesn’t give a f***. Thankfully, that will not be the case. During a live chat celebrating the fact that his Facebook page has hit more than 100 million followers, Vin Diesel finally said what everyone already assumed. “Incredibly exciting. Incredibly exciting, and something that if you are part of our [Facebook] page, you knew before everybody, or you were told before everybody”. Joe said, “You won’t be disappointed in the scale of those movies, or in the amount of characters that are in them”.
Diesel’s announcement comes hard on the heels of Marvel’s decision to re-title The Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2.
Though originally branded as “Avengers: Infinity War Part 1” and Part 2, the first film was recently retitled to just Avengers: Infinity War, while the sequel is a now untitled Avengers sequel.
Diesel didn’t add what the film means for the future of the Guardians characters or how they might be used throughout the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as it enters its third phase, but spoke about some of his other projects.
With Joe and Anthony Russo, who’ve taken over the reigns of the Avengers franchise, confirming recently that “Infinity War” will no longer be a two-part blockbuster, we can expect official confirmation from the directors or Marvel Studios in the coming weeks.
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” is now in post-production and is slated for a May 5, 2017 release. I’m putting in my suggestion here and now: dance-off between the Guardians and the Avengers.
Diesel, the star of “Fast & Furious”, portrayed extraterrestrial Groot in 2014’s “Guardians of the Galaxy”, alongside Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Bradley Cooper.
