Gunmen kill four in Egypt
Unknown gunmen shot dead four policemen in an attack on Saturday near Cairo, the Interior Ministry said.
The masked assailants riding a motorbike on Saturday opened fire at a security checkpoint in Giza, a city famed for the Pyramids, according to the report.
State-run newspaper al-Ahram reported online that the attackers had escaped the scene after seizing the guns of the four slain policemen.
The attacks targeting police and military increased after the ouster of Islamist ex-president Mohamed Morsi in 2013 by military following massive protests against his rule.
Egypt is fighting an Islamist insurgency that has been targeted mostly at security personnel.
The attacks were confined to North Sinai peninsula led by a local Islamic State affiliate against the state security forces after the army ousted Morsi.
