Gunners to assess Sanchez ahead of United tie
Two players who definitely will not be involved at Old Trafford are Spain internationals Santi Cazorla and Hector Bellerin.
“It’s very hard to make a definite assessment on that because I don’t know how bad his injury was”, he added. “You have to trust the medical people from Chile”, he said. “After that, [for us] it’s a hard period in November because… What I will consider is basically the risk of injury”.
The Spain global, 21, sustained the injury during the latter stages of Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur prior to the worldwide break.
The striker’s performance will go some way to allaying Wenger’s fears, with a Premier League fixture against Manchester United at lunchtime on Saturday foremost in his mind.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Alexis Sanchez sent him a text to say that he “was in good shape” for the Gunners’ trip to Manchester United. Cazorla is still out.
“I still don’t know the exact time”.
“We value individuality, but I think today the great merit of reversing the outcome is based exclusively on the collective”.
Wenger’s rivalry with Mourinho, which the Portuguese seemed to stoke again on Friday by claiming the Arsenal boss gets more respect than him despite not having won the Premier League since 2004, is another subplot.
The Chileans were recently awarded two extra points after a Federation Internationale de Football Association ruling that said Bolivia used an ineligible player in a 0-0 draw, but the Bolivians have submitted an appeal the decision.
“[We need to] win every game, get as many points as possible and also be successful against the big teams, like we were against Chelsea”, Ozil said on Arsenal Player.
Currently, Sanchez has notched six goals to his league tally making him the clubs top goalscorer and the deciding factor in many close games.
Who knows? This may even have been the moment that he was inspired to one day play for Arsenal.
