Gurdaspur attack: Terrorists sported ‘Made in Pakistan’ gloves, say reports
Gurdaspur: Postmortem examinations were on Friday being conducted at the civil hospital in Gurdaspur on the bodies of the three terrorists, who had stormed a police station in Gurdaspur and were gunned down by Punjab Police personnel during a day-long operation.
In a major revelation in the deadly Gurdaspur terror attack, one of the gloves worn by the three terrorists killed in the attack, had a “Made in Pakistan” symbol.
Earlier, police had maintained that no label was found on clothes while doing a random search of the clothes.
“The bodies are handed over to the doctors as found. It was while making the inventory and a close examination of the clothes the terrorists were wearing that the doctors found a “Made in Pakistan” tag intact in one glove of a terrorist”. The “vital” evidence recovered during autopsy of the militants “clearly” points towards the involvement of Pakistan in Gurdaspur attack, the reports said quoting investigators.
Another surprising element was that the terrorists had a US-made Night Vision Device (NVD), which has “warning” and “US government property” marks on it. Stating about this a source said that the NVD was originated from the “strife-torn Afghanistan“.
Furthermore investigators ironically suspect the night vision devices that carry “Made in United Sates” labels were probably procured from Afghanistan. Analysis of the two Global Positioning System machines recovered from the three slain terrorists showed that the details of the routes and targets had been fed into these on July 21, sources said.
According to the latest reports, the terrorists who attacked Dinanagar police station earlier on July 27 were armored with advanced bullets, commonly known as API (Armor-piercing incendiary), which can penetrate even bullet-proof vests and vehicles.
However, Pakistan dismissed India’s accusation, saying, “Pointing fingers without investigation is not a healthy trend”.
The post-mortem was conducted amid tight security at the hospital and in nearby areas.
