Gus Malzahn has high expectations for the Tigers in 2015
Johnson, Kris Frost and Jonathan Jones joined Auburn coach Gus Malzahn for the first day of SEC Media Days at Hyatt Regency. “It’s a man’s league …” This year, two teams from the division should be in the conversation: Auburn and Alabama.
From a very literal standpoint, absolutely.
The Tigers play Louisville and LSU early on the schedule and that should give an early indication of just how good Auburn can be.
You aren’t likely (satellite camp or not) to go in to Alabama and beat either Auburn or the Tide for top in-state kids.
Hatcher says Johnson is a “precision passer”, but believes Johnson has better legs than people think.
“I think this is going to be a special year for him”, said Roman Davis, 41, of Trussville. The Tigers were outranked by Ohio State with each of their past two recruiting classes as well.
The SEC decided coming out of spring meetings that if the NCAA doesn’t eliminate satellite camps nationwide, that it will lift the limitations on its coaches.
The SEC has been the premier conference in college football for the better part of the last 10 years with seven straight national championships from 2006 to 2012 and more NFL Draft picks than any other league.
But he might be wise to sure up things on his end a bit more before playing the hyperbole card about things like conference superiority again in the not too distant future given the past season that was.
